GlüxKind Ella: the stroller with an electric motor

The Canadian startup GlüxKind presented the Ella stroller with an electric motor at CES 2023, which will significantly facilitate the lives of many parents when taking on some of their responsibilities. True, the car will not be cheap - from $ 3,800.

The authors of the project are Canadian engineers Ann Hanger and Kevin Huang, a couple who were very disappointed when looking for a stroller for their daughter. In the end, they put an ordinary cart on an electric skateboard and started working on the project.

GlüxKind Ella offers three modes of operation, the first of which is to create a codirectional effort — when the cart starts to be pushed, the electric motors are switched on. The effect of this mode is most noticeable when you need to drive uphill, turn or move with a full cargo compartment.

The second mode is automatic lull, in which the stroller moves back and forth independently by about 30 cm. You probably shouldn't abuse this function, but as a temporary emergency measure it can come in handy. Finally, the third mode involves moving the cart on autopilot in front of the owner. GlüxKind Ella independently maintains stable power or slows down when needed. The only drawback is that this mode does not work if there is a child in the stroller.

The battery is enough for about 8 hours of work. GlüxKind Ella is not yet available for sale: a Kickstarter campaign is due to launch in the coming months where you can pre-order it for $3,800. When the cart hits the market, its price will likely increase.
