AUDIO THECNICA

Audio-Technica is gearing up to unveil an extremely limited edition of its headphones during Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025, which takes place April 18-20 at Makuhari Messe. The ATH-AWSW DV model appears as a true collector's piece, inspired by Darth Vader, and has only 10 units produced worldwide.
These headphones stand out for their wood finish and handcrafted decoration. Each unit is coated in Echizen lacquer and adorned with illustrations created using the Japanese maki-e technique, using official Lucasfilm materials developed exclusively for this product.
The decorations on the two shells are different and hand-painted by Japanese artisans, which guarantees a degree of exclusivity in each pair. The result is an object that crosses the world of high fidelity sound with Japan's cultural heritage.
It's not just the visuals that impress. Audio-Technica has tuned this model to make the most of the soundtracks from the Star Wars saga, promising an immersive sound experience, rich in detail and depth.
Equipped with 53mm drivers, these headphones deliver an impressive range of frequencies, from 5Hz to 45,000Hz.
The brand, with over 20 years of experience in wooden headphones, took care of the entire production process in Japan.
Each pair is numbered and includes themed accessories, such as a unique stand designed for those who want to display this piece with pride.
The ATH-AWSW DV will be available exclusively at the Audio-Technica booth (#28–32) during the event. With a price tag of 990,000 yen — roughly 6,200 euros — and only 10 units produced, it's expected that they'll sell out quickly. If there are any copies left after the event, there may be a new opportunity to buy in a later sale.
Tickets for Star Wars Celebration Japan 2020 are already sold out, but there are other options for fans of the saga. Last month, Audio-Technica launched Star Wars-themed headphones that, despite not reaching the same level of exclusivity, maintain the visual identity of the saga and offer an interesting alternative for those looking for an unusual accessory.
