SAMSUNG

Galaxy S23 flagship series could have the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip

It's already a tradition for Samsung to offer two processors in its flagship phones. In the United States and South Korea, these flagships are sold with Snapdragon, and in the rest of the world, including Europe and our market, models equipped with Exynos chipsets are available. This year it was already more or less confirmed that there will be no Exynos, so the Galaxy S23 series will thus rely exclusively on Snapdragon. And not any other.

Let's pour some pure wine. Galaxy S flagship phones are always better with Snapdragons than Exynos versions. This is due to the fact that American chipsets are simply a little stiffer than competing processors from the shops. Samsung both in performance and efficiency.

The South Korean giant intends to focus on this aspect and plans to make the Exynos more competitive than before, but until that happens, the Galaxy S series will only rely on Snapdragon processors. This was recently confirmed by Qualcomm's own CFO.

my flagship Galaxy S23 will then arrive with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, that's more or less a sure thing. A well-known informant ''Ice Universe'' has now brought more positive information – Samsung will use an exclusive version with a higher clock frequency in its flagship series, which will mean slightly higher performance.

While the standard version of the SD 8 Gen 2 chipset offers a maximum clock of 3.2 GHz, the specification used by Samsung should handle up to 3.36 GHz. Of course, it's questionable how much this frequency boost will be noticeable in everyday use, but the increase is certainly decent.

The aforementioned whistleblower (Twitter: @Ice Universe) also showed early tests in the Geekbench benchmark, which look very positive. In them, Samsung's flagship, equipped with an SD 8 Gen 2 processor running at a frequency of 3.36 GHz, achieved 1,504 points in single-threaded and 4,580 points in multi-threaded. That certainly looks promising and it looks like this year the Galaxy S23 series can show the competition its back in terms of performance.
