Earlier this week, Apple released iOS 16.1 update for supported iPhone models. Now, the company has started releasing iOS 15.7.1, a security patch for those who are not yet planning to install iOS 16 or use older iPhones and iPads.

The iOS 15.7.1 description doesn't mention any new features. This means that the update only contains security updates and fixes intended to improve the stability of the software platform. Keep in mind that Apple allows users to continue using no longer current versions of the operating system (in this case iOS 15) while security updates are released for them. Similarly, last year, users were able to continue using iOS 14 even after iOS 15 was released. This update also applies to older devices such as iPhone 6s and iPhone 7, which cannot be updated to iOS. iOS 16.

You can update the software through the device settings menu by selecting the appropriate section. At the same time, Apple continues to work on iOS 16.2, which brings several innovations.
