During a recent interview, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the company plans to create a viable prototype of a humanoid robot by the end of next year. If once the emphasis was on performing routine operations by these robots, then this week Musk said that, over time, each robot will be able to acquire unique personality traits and become a good companion for its owner.

Before that, the head of Tesla emphasized that the company's developments in the field of artificial intelligence systems, which are used​​to create active driver assistance systems, can also be used​​to control humanoid robots. Its series production may eventually begin at Tesla's Texas facility in the immediate vicinity of the new headquarters. In an interview with Lex Fridman, the head of the company explained that he was not ready to quote the date for the start of mass production of such robots, but a prototype of a “decent level” will appear at the end of next year.

“Over time, he can acquire a unique personality. This is not to say that all robots will be the same. The personality of each one will develop for a better adaptation to the owner, so to speak ”, – explained Elon Musk in his interview. The channel's host added that this adaptation of robots will help people fight loneliness. Musk also compared the future Tesla robots with the famous “Star Wars” characters – C3PO and R2D2 robots.
