REALME

Model GT 2 Pro render showcases large camera bump

Details about the upcoming Realme GT 2 Pro have been steadily trickling in over the past few weeks. Among other things, the high-end Realme smartphone will be one of the first in the world to run Qualcomm's shiny new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. We now get our first look at it, thanks to @OnLeaks and 91Mobiles, who also divulged some information about its innards.

As you can see in the attached image, the Realme GT 2 Pro has a camera bump reminiscent of the Nexus 6P. A previous report told us it would pack two 50MP camera modules, although their exact function wasn't cited. Nonetheless, it is good to see that Realme has finally ditched the quasi-useless macro and depth sensors on its high-end phones. Lastly, a 32MP module will handle selfies and video calls.

Moving on to other Realme GT 2 Pro specs, the smartphone is rumoured to pack a 6.8-inch WQHD+ AMOLED screen clocked at 120Hz- another first for a Realme device. Additionally, the phone could support fast charging at up to 125W and run Android 12 out of the box. An under-display fingerprint sensor will probably handle biometric authentication.

Given the laundry list of features it packs, the Realme GT 2 Pro will not be easy on the wallet. OnLeaks speculates that the Realme GT 2 Pro's starting price could be around US$800, although that might vary on a region-by-region basis. Nonetheless, the device has potential to establish Realme's position in the high-end smartphone market, and it'll be interesting to see how it fares against behemoths such as the OnePlus 10 Pro and Galaxy S22 series.
