Online sales of smartphones in high demand

Counterpoint Technology's Market Research recorded a sharp increase in smartphone sales through online channels amid a general market decline.
Last year, through online stores, customers around the world purchased about 20% of the total volume of tubes sold. This year, that figure should reach a record high of 23%.
It is noted that India is the leader in online sales of smart cell phones: in the first quarter of 2020, 40% of the total number of smartphones sold in this country fell on Internet channels. The United Kingdom is in second place with 35% and China in third with 30%. Next comes the United States and South Korea with 17% and 13%, respectively.

The growth in smartphone sales on Internet channels is explained by the pandemic: consumers are less and less likely to visit traditional stores, and many communication stores have been forced to suspend activities or even close entirely.
The increase in sales of cell phones by the Network is registered worldwide, including in Europe and the CIS. At the same time, total smartphone sales are declining: in the last quarter, according to Gartner estimates, 294.7 million smartphones were shipped globally, which is 20.4% less than a year ago.
