Brand now has the Halo Band fitness tracker that monitors even the mood

Amazon today launched a brand new Halo program designed to provide comprehensive monitoring and guidance for personal health and well-being. The service, which is being launched on Early Access today, includes a six-month subscription and a new Halo Band fitness tracker for 5.
Halo offers more than a standard combination of health tracking devices and applications. The Amazon Halo tracker and app package offer comprehensive health analysis, including body fat percentage, which can be measured using a smartphone camera thanks to the company's cutting-edge computer vision and machine learning. The program uses deep photographic processing based on a neural network, separating the body from the environment and analyzing the so-called “hot spots” of fat accumulation. After that, a 3D model of the body is created, which can be used to track how changes in body fat will change the physical. Amazon says the technology is capable of providing an accuracy that a doctor can provide in a clinical setting and is twice as accurate as possible with an intelligent scale.
As for the Amazon Halo Band, this fitness tracker can record metrics like body temperature, activity and sleep status. It is equipped with an accelerometer, heart rate monitor, two microphones and is waterproof. The built-in battery is capable of providing a week of autonomous work after a charge of 90 minutes. Accessories will be available for the tracker to personalize the device.

Another unique feature of the Halo Band is the voice tracking function, which, thanks to machine learning, determines the user's energy and mood in different life situations. That's what the built-in microphones are for.
These ample opportunities cannot fail to cause concern. To implement the declared functionality, Halo Band needs unprecedented access to the user's personal data. Even so, Amazon says there is no cause for concern. All data on the user's body is automatically deleted from the servers immediately after processing and is stored only on the phone. In addition, Amazon claims that all data is encrypted to and from servers.

As for voice recordings, the company claims that they are processed exclusively on the smartphone and are immediately deleted, so that no one, not even the user, can hear them. However, it cannot be ruled out that Amazon may use some of the data for advertising purposes. However, users of Alexa voice assistant, apparently, are not intimidated by this opportunity.
