Mozilla Firefox for Android gets more interesting

Firefox for Android is one of the most popular alternatives to Google Chrome. The browser has been downloaded more than 100 million times from the Google Play app store. The latest update brings Firefox a significantly redesigned design, as well as changes to improve performance and functionality.
Mozilla announced on its blog that the new update is called Firefox Daylight, which symbolizes a new beginning in the history of the popular Android browser. One of the most noticeable changes in the interface is the transfer of the address bar to the bottom of the screen. This very unusual innovation helps to use the browser with one hand, even on smartphones with large diagonal screens. The application also has an image-in-image feature, and switching between dark and light themes has been greatly simplified.



Among other things, support for several add-ons has been significantly expanded, which favorably distinguishes Firefox from the same Google Chrome. Tabs can now be organized into collections, which makes the application’s screen much less confusing.
Unfortunately, users left many negative comments about the browser. The most common complaints are the sudden end of support for some extensions and stability issues. We recall that Mozilla previously laid off 250 employees, due to a decrease in revenue caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
