G7 gaming laptops get thinner and receive 10th generation Intel processors

The Dell G7, the company's most affordable gaming laptop, will be redesigned and equipped with 10th generation Intel Core processors. The model will be presented in the versions of 15 and 17 inches. The starting price for both options starts at $ 1,429, with the 17-inch model on sale today and the 15-inch model on June 29.
The Dell G7 tried to reduce the thickness of the laptop by moving several main ports to the rear panel. This resembles the previous generation Alienware solutions. The Dell G7 15 is 18.3 mm thick and comes in a “mineral black color”, as Dell calls it, with silver accents. An optional four-zone RGB keyboard backlight is available. There is also a backlight on the laptop case, which can be configured in the Alienware Command Center software.
The range of processors installed on the Dell G7 laptop starts with the Intel Core i5-10300H four-core and ends with the Core i9-10885H eight-core. Discrete graphics cards range from NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti to RTX 2070 Max-Q on G7 15 and GeForce RTX 2070 Super on G7 17. Ceiling for the amount of installed RAM - 16 GB (DDR4-2933). It is possible to install a solid state drive up to 1 TB M.2 PCIe. Both versions of laptops support 802.11ac wireless networks using the Intel AX201 adapter or the Killer Wireless 1650 2 × 2 AC adapter (optional).



According to the manufacturer, laptop screens have narrow frames on both sides. The screen resolution is 1080p and the refresh rate is 144 Hz (with the 300 Hz option on the 15 and 17 inch models). For the Dell G7 15, there is also the opportunity to order a version with an OLED panel with a resolution of 4K and a frequency of 60 Hz.
The general dimensions of the Dell G7 15 are 357.2 × 267.7 × 18.3 mm, the Dell G7 17 - 398.2 × 290 × 19.3 mm. In the first case, you can order a version with a 56 Wh · h or 86 Wh · rechargeable battery; in the second - 56 or 97 Wh · h.
