A internet 5G é essencial para uma série de inovações tecnológicas, como carros autônomos, inteligência artificial e sistemas integrados5G Internet to reach 45% of world population by 2024, says Ericsson

Ericsson today announced that 45 percent of the world's population will have access to 5G connectivity by 2024, an index higher than that predicted by the Swedish telecom company in earlier reviews. According to the company, 1.9 billion devices will be connected to the service in five years, 27% more than expected in another report released last November.
"This is going much faster than we thought," said Patrik Cerwall, head of segment marketing for Ericsson.
5G connectivity is essential for a number of technological innovations such as standalone cars, artificial intelligence and integrated systems. The service is already offered in a limited way in cities in the United States, United Kingdom and South Korea and soon to arrive in China. There is no forecast for the service debut in Brazil. According to the Ericson report, the 5G connection should make a jump around the world from 2020.
"It's not that 5G adoption is necessarily faster in the first one or two years, but once you've reached mass scale, billions of people want this technology," he said.
The vanguard of connectivity is disputed by several companies in the world. China's Huawei led the dispute loosely until it was hampered by a series of US sanctions and pressure for allies, such as Japan and the United Kingdom, to withdraw from talks with the company. The scenario favored Nokia's Nokia, which has said it has closed the same number of service contracts as the rival. I. D.
