5G: Altice realiza primeira transmissão televisiva do país com RTP5G: Altice performs first national television broadcast with RTP

This moment "is historic and unprecedented, and Altice Portugal was proud to have been the operator to lead the first live television broadcast," Meo's CEO, Alexandre Fonseca, told Lusa.
The manager stressed that Altice Portugal "has been key in the 'roadmap' for the 5G" and said that "this is another step for leadership, as it is a real-life demonstration of a technology of the future."
"In fact, television operators will be one of the areas that will benefit from the implementation of this technology, which guarantees greater efficiency associated with a more efficient management of resources," concluded Alexandre Fonseca.
In a statement, Altice Portugal said that in the demonstration that took place at the Altice Arena was allowed to connect a 5G station, installed in that space during the event, to Monsanto to make a live broadcast in RTP via 5G.
"The demonstration consisted of activating a 5G pre-commercial ecosystem from the customer terminal to service platforms. The terminal equipment (router) was developed to support the new technology, which consists of a new radio network and a new network 5G control, as well as the use of a more complex and intelligent set of active antennas. With this system it is possible to reach a communication rate of up to 1.7 Gbps [gigabytes per second] ", explains the owner of Meo, note.
In a real environment and with gaming in the background, Altice Portugal "guarantees, this weekend, the full coverage of Altice Arena with 5G during the Moche XL Esports by Huawei, the biggest event of electronic sports in the Iberian Peninsula, "concludes the operator.
Among the key features of 5G are the higher data transmission speed and greater connectivity between objects. Lusa Agency
