SAMSUNG

Company may have a new, more powerful variant of Galaxy M30 in the works

The Galaxy M30 is one of Samsung's new mid-range devices. However, it seems that the OEM is already planning to refresh this phone with a different, faster CPU. On the other hand, this possibility has only been indicated through new Geekbench scores thus far.
Samsung clearly pursues a strategy of covering the many aspects of the smartphone market as possible with as many devices as possible. To that end, it has set the Galaxy M series up this year, and festooned it with a number of new models that target the spectrum of low-to-mid-tier price points. The Galaxy M30 sits in the approximate middle of this slider, between the M20 and M40. However, it seems that even this is not enough for their maker.
A new device, depicted similar to this phone, has recently appeared on the Geekbench database. Its model number is SM-M307F, whereas that of the M30 is SM-M305F. It is powered by the 10nm Exynos 9610, while the M30 is associated with the older, 14nm Exynos 9704. Therefore, it appears that Samsung may be preparing a new variant of the pre-existing phone. The SM-M307F has considerably fewer Geekbench entries compared to the SM-M305F; However, these early data-points suggest that the former is faster and better at multitasking already. Those who have already bought the M30 may be disgruntled at these findings. "Galaxy M30s" is destined for different regions - perhaps those where other Exynos 9610-powered devices are successful, or may be in the near future. by Deirdre O Donnell
