Older smartphones also deserve a slice of Android Pie
The breakdowns do not always dictate the abandonment of older smartphones. The lack of official support and new updates to its operating system prevent the devices from being compatible with the applications that are coming on the market. In order for older devices to not be obsolete, the LineageOS community (previously known as CyanogenMod) has been accompanying the release of new versions of the Android operating system and made modifications to run on older models.
The new release, LineageOS 16 is a ROM that allows you to install the Android 9 Pie on discontinued devices a few years ago, or at least no longer receive official updates. As it is explained in the official page, which has instructions on how to install, the new OS is initially supported by 30 devices, highlighting older models like the Samsung Galaxy S5, OnePlus One, but also recent ones such as the Huawei P20 Pro and the Xiaomi Pocophone F1.
Importantly note that the new version of LineageOS has already anticipated and added compatibility with the new "dark" mode that will be introduced in future version of Android, the already discussed Android Q. Mundophone
