DIGITAL LIFE

Tell the European Parliament to reject Articles 11 & 13.

On 26 March, the European Parliament will vote on a new directive on copyright for Europe. This Directive imposes new licensing charges on websites collecting and organizing news (Article 11), and forcing platforms to proactively validate all uploads to their sites, automatically blocking all uploads of potentially rights-protected content of author (Article 13).
Both of these articles can significantly affect freedom of expression and participation on the Internet. Although Wikipedia is not directly affected by these provisions, our project exists and lives with the rest of the Internet. Articles 11 and 13 will weaken the web, and weaken Wikipedia.
We're almost on voting day. Please take two minutes to contact your representatives in the European Parliament (http://www.europarl.europa.eu/meps/de/home) and tell them that you can not support a reform of copyright containing Articles 11 and 13. Source:Wikipedia
