Coreia do Sul arranca com rede móvel 5G já no próximo mêsSouth Korea kicks off with 5G mobile network next month

The announcement was made by South Korean Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki during a cabinet meeting in Seoul, Yonhap news agency reported.
It is estimated that the speed of wireless data transmission of the set of 5G technologies is up to 50 times higher than the current 4G and LTE networks.
At the same time, it is expected that its implementation will multiply services for users and business opportunities for companies.
At the same meeting, the official said that the three major South Korean telecommunications operators plan to make an investment equivalent to about 2,355 million euros this year for the full implementation of the 5G network in South Korea.
The main South Korean operator, KT, had already conducted a first test of 5G services in a limited area during the Winter Olympic Games in February last year in the South Korean region of PyeongChang.
In January, Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei announced that it will launch a next-generation smartphone based on proprietary technology instead of using North American components, illustrating efforts to reduce dependence on US suppliers.
The device, announced by Huawei as the first 'fifth generation' smartphone, will be unveiled next week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Lusa Agency
