APPLE

Próximo iPhone poderá ter sensor de impressão digital em todo o ecrã

Next iPhone may have full fingerprint sensor In today's iPhone devices, Apple chose to discard the Touch ID, which allowed users to identify themselves through fingerprints, giving way to the facial recognition system. But now there is a leak, discovered by AppleInsider, of a patent submitted and authorized, focused on a biometric system on the screen, but not in a specific location, the technology covers the entire screen.
In the patent description, the technology is called "Acoustic pulse coding for imaging devices," meaning users can simply tap anywhere on the screen to unlock the device. This technology will allow the manufacturer to maintain the usual design. As explained in the publication, the acoustic transducers are positioned in contact with the surface of the screen, transmitting a coded pulse signal, in response to the touch input.
Experts say the technology is very similar to Qualcomm's Ultrasonic system, which allows you to create a 3D mapping of fingerprints using acoustic vibrations on the screen. It is reported that this technology is faster and safer than previous biometric sensors. And it's slated to debut on Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S10.
It is mentioned that these new biometric systems are not intuitive for users, because it is necessary to place the finger on a specific area of the screen and it has no relief, to identify it. Already the Apple system, when materializing, will have to deal with the accidental touches, so that the equipment does not unlock to the minimum contact. It will be necessary to build an algorithm so that it does not trigger the device when it is put in the pocket, for example. To do so, Apple may opt for a mixed system, facial recognition and fingerprint. Now it's missing an official brand of the apple ... Sapo
