Company reveals EnVentus - its new modular platform
The EnVentus platform will allow to reduce the costs of wind power in the market. Initially EnVentus will be available through the V150-5.6MW and V162-5.6MW models; which will cover the conditions of the high, medium and low wind.
The CEO of Vestas, ANders Runevad, spoke about this feat:
"EnVentus is a great achievement because of all those who are part of Vestas and will enable us to respond to the growing needs of customers in terms of customization and energy cost savings. Our effort to achieve unparalleled results in the industry, in terms of profitability and revenues, allowed us to have the resources to develop this new platform of the highest quality. In 2018 we had an order record and installed capacity above 100GW, EnVentus is thus another step towards achieving Vestas' goal of becoming the world leader in sustainable energy solutions. "
EnVentus Project
EnVentus is the first platform Vestas launches in 8 years! It combines the proven technology and system designs of its 2MW, 4MW and 9MW platforms with advanced modularity, all with the aim of efficiently and reliably lowering energy costs!
Its launch will enable scale advantages and optimization opportunities to be addressed to meet the current and future needs of the entire value chain, such as design or transportation cycles.
Since 1979 Vestas has been in the wind energy market. With this new project, EnVentus, and its two models, joins the past to innovation, establishing itself even more technological market leaders. EnVentus was designed and developed based on advanced modularity, allowing the market to offer customized solutions while optimizing the value chain.
Vestas Technology Director Anders Vedel says "I am proud of every one of the Vestas employees who have made it possible to develop this new platform. They have demonstrated once again that Vestas relies on the industry's most passionate and innovative minds. "
EnVentus Models
The first two models of this new platform, the V162-5.6MW and V150-5.6MW, can be used worldwide and join the wide range of existing 2MW and 4MW wind turbines. Customers will thus have an unrivaled combination of wind power from which to derive maximum performance from any location.
These turbines have a full-scale converter, capable of meeting the requirements of the most complex networks in the various markets. The inverter is combined with a permanent magnet generator to get the most out of the system. The system is all balanced on a medium speed power rotor.
