TECH

Dentro do robô Boris havia uma pessoaThe fraud of the Russian high tech robot who could speak and dance

Boris robot, as it was called, became the sensation at a technology event sponsored by the Russian government, the Proyektoria Technology Forum, in the city of Yaroslavl, Russia.
The robot has also been shown on national television channels.
However, it did not take long for journalists to begin expressing doubts about their authenticity.
The Russian site TJournal made a list of badly explained points about the robot. Why did not he have sensors? How did the scientists build it so fast, without a project known before?
Why was not there any previous news about building such an advanced robot? Why did he make so many unnecessary moves while dancing?
And finally, why was it the exact size so that a person fit perfectly inside?
Fantasy
All of these questions were answered shortly after, when a photo posted on social networks revealed that what was inside the robot was not high tech but a person.
The robot was, in fact, a costume costing more than $ 3,700 ($ 14,400). The fantasy was called Alyosha, the Robot, and was manufactured by the company Show Robots.
Although the organizers of the event have never explicitly said that the robot was real, the way it was presented and the coverage made by Russian television meant that it was an authentic piece of advanced technology.
On its website, the fantasy maker says the product is capable of creating "an almost complete illusion that it is a true robot." Source:bbc.com
