WPA3: Protocolo que traz de volta a segurança às redes wi-fi já é oficial
WPA3: Protocol that brings back the security to wi-fi networks is already official
A few months ago, a serious security flaw was discovered in Wi-Fi networks with the WPA2 protocol, known as KRACK (Key Reinstallation Attacks), which, in addition to allowing access to information, still allowed in certain special cases the data to be manipulated and inserted.Companies such as Google, Apple and Microsoft have released system updates to correct this anomaly, however, the Wi-Fi Alliance has decided to go further and introduce a new security standard for wireless networks, WPA3."WPA3 adds new features to simplify Wi-Fi security, enable stronger authentication and provide greater encryption," the company said in a statement, specifying that, as in previous generations, WPA3 will offer user-specific procedures: WPA3 -Personal for the general public and WPA3-Enterprise for professionals.New security features in WPA3 include protection against brute-force attacks where the authentication process will be blocked after multiple login attempts.WPA3 also has an "individualized data encryption", that is, it encrypts the connection between each device on the network and the router, making it difficult to leak data and protecting users in open wi-fi hotspots. Finally, it has an improved cryptographic standard that the Wi-Fi Alliance describes as "a 192-bit security suite that will further protect wi-fi networks with higher security requirements, such as government, defense, and industry."Although already announced by the Wi-Fi Alliance, full implementation of the new protocol is only expected in mid-2019.
