Smart taxis. This is Sony's next project
Sony has no plans to limit itself to the markets in which it is present, with intentions to launch itself in the transport sector thanks to a collaboration with an alliance of Japanese taxi companies.
It tells Nikkei (via Engadget) that Sony intends to launch a platform with artificial intelligence that, thanks to special algorithms, will be able to predict where the greatest number of potential customers will be. If the scenario of a concert takes place in a specific area of a city, taxis would indicate a greater potential of customers.
It reminds Engadget that the business model of companies like Uber that uses private cars for hitchhiking is not allowed in Japan, reason why the bet of Sony in the taxis could turn out for the company.
