Global Impact Challenge wants proposals to solve today's great challenges
Applications to the Global Impact Challenge, a Singularity University program that invites entrepreneurs and other players in the field of innovation to come up with ideas that can help solve some of today's major global challenges, are open until February 6. Priority goes to proposals focusing on the topics Education, Environment and Governance.
The program, which comes to Portugal through a partnership between the Nova School of Business & Economics, Cascais City Hall and Beta-i, wants to "foster disruptive innovations to attack and solve the biggest problems facing the world , in the fields of energy, environment, food, shelter, space, water, natural disasters, health, education, prosperity and security, "a press release said.
These "disruptive innovations" are, in the definition of the US, "all those that impact one billion people in a space of ten years."
The winner of this initiative will be announced on Feb. 26 and will be honored with a 10-week program with the Singularity University team at the SU Ventures Incubator Program at the NASA Ames Research Center in Silicon Valley.
