WIFI4EU PROJECT: FREE INTERNET ALL IN EUROPE
The European Commission program, WIFI4EU, provides for the installation of Wi-Fi access points in public spaces throughout Europe, with a special focus on squares, libraries and hospitals. With an initial financial envelope of EUR 120 million, access to the program is reserved for public entities with open spaces, such as those mentioned, receiving EU funding in a "first come, first served" model. To help those interested in the initiative to clarify any doubts, Anacom will hold a session open to the public, on February 2 at 3 pm, at the Portuguese Communications Foundation, in Lisbon.Participation is free and open to all interested parties, being only subject to prior registration until January 31, by filling out the respective electronic form. The regulatory body, together with the National Association of Portuguese Municipalities (ANMP), will also organize three clarification sessions, addressed to the municipal councils. These meetings will take place in Guimaraes (February 1, at the Fraterna Auditorium, at 9:30 am), in Coimbra (February 2, at the auditorium of the ANMP headquarters, 3:00 p.m.) and in Évora (February 2, Noble of the town hall, at 9.30).Webstreaming is prepared, and participants can post questions per message.
