Unsatisfied with iPhone 7, engineer adds audio input
Scotty Allen, a software engineer and owner of an iPhone 7, has decided to take charge of fixing what is considered one of the main flaws of Apple's latest smartphone: the absence of a conventional audio input for headphones.
Allen shows the whole process in a video available on your YouTube channel (which you can see below), where you can see how the entire smartphone has been rebuilt to accommodate this 'minor' change. As The Verge notes, the process was time-consuming and cost thousands of dollars and was therefore not accessible to all consumers.
When it announced the removal of the iPhone's audio input last year, Apple dubbed the decision "brave." However, given the low popularity of the decision among consumers and given that few market makers have taken the same path, it remains (for the time being) a very debated decision.
