See how to activate maintenance mode to ensure more privacy in support

Samsung offers a maintenance mode to ensure more privacy in support. When activating the feature, your data is protected to prevent your files from being accessible to technical assistance. To view personal information, the cell phone requires the device password.

Samsung's maintenance mode also keeps the device from being used only with pre-installed apps, with no personal information available. This solution allows technicians to access key smartphone features to perform support procedures.

-Access cell phone settings

-Tap the gear icon in the notification center to open OS settings.Open maintenance mode options

-Tap “Maintenance Mode” to open the function settings.

-Open the assistance menu

-After opening the operating system settings, scroll to “Device support” and tap this option.

-Open maintenance mode options

-Tap “Maintenance Mode” to open the function settings.

-Enable the feature

-Tap “Enable” to activate maintenance mode.

-Complete the procedure

-Now just tap “Restart” to turn the cell phone off and on again in maintenance mode.

If you don't want to create a record that tells you which apps were used and if there were any errors recently, just check the “Restart without creating record” box. This option, when activated, also causes maintenance mode to be activated more quickly.
