Browser has a new feature that allows you to generate images with Aria, its native AI

Opera announced on Tuesday (25) an update to its main mobile browser, Opera for Android, which allows the generation of images with Aria, its native AI.

Version 83 comes with imaging powered by Google's Imagen2 imaging model, which was also recently added to the Opera Desktop developer flow.

Users can now ask Aria to generate whatever they want, a beautiful landscape, an image for a presentation, or even something funny and unbelievable like a dog in space – and the browser's AI will make it come true.

Images can be refined until they meet the user's specifications, and then copied to the clipboard, downloaded, shared – or even set as the device's wallpaper.

“We’re excited to bring imaging to Opera for Android – it’s a fun and useful addition to Aria’s capabilities that we could hardly have imagined a year ago,” said Jørgen Arnsen, EVP Mobile at Opera.

“Other recent updates have focused heavily on Aria’s efficiency and utility, and we’re happy to incorporate a feature that allows users to explore their creativity and express their uniqueness, all within the browser itself,” adds Arnsen.

The browser's native AI, Aria, was first integrated into Opera for Android in June 2023. Connected to OpenAI's GPT technology, the free, unlimited AI delivers live results from the web and makes tasks like information retrieval, generating text or code and product queries.

Opera continued to develop new capabilities for Aria, adapting the experience to the needs of users on the go. A recent version of Opera for Android introduced Ask Aria and Aria Voice, which allow users to request additional information or context, as well as enable interactions with Aria using voice.

Both version 83 and other recent updates to Opera for Android have brought a more personalized experience to the browser.

An improved search view in News allows users to quickly find their preferred country, while 30 new languages ​​further localize the user experience.

There are new features aimed at football fans, including a live score carousel with detailed statistics, as well as match notifications and a dedicated news feed that makes it easy to follow the competition you want.
