LG DualUp: does it again with its very original computer screen
LG has just launched a new computer screen from its DualUp range. A range with a particularity: the screens do not have a classic format, but are in the 16:18 format.
Shortly before CES 2022, LG presented a PC screen, from the DualUp range. A desktop PC monitor in 16:18 format. The South Korean manufacturer is back with a new iteration, the LG 28MQ750-C.
At the moment, this screen has been launched in China only, but it is still available on the brand’s American website. Its list price is $599, which is $100 less than last year’s model.
It is a 27.6-inch panel in 16:18 format. This screen offers an SDQHD definition of 2560 by 2880 pixels, with a refresh rate of 60 Hz and a maximum brightness of 300 cd/m². Finally, there is compatibility with HDR and a colorimetric coverage of 98% of the DCI-P3. All of this is fairly standard for a computer screen, except for its format.
If we divide the height of this screen in two, this gives two 16:9 screens, in QHD given the definition of this LG DualUp. It’s like stacking two screens.classicsone above the other. This is the use imagined by LG: on all the visuals, there are two windows stacked on top of each other. Moreover, there is a function called PBP, which allows to ''display content from two different computers on the monitor and use the KVM function to manage content with a single keyboard and mouse''.
According to the manufacturer, it’s convenient for video editing, but we can imagine that it’s also convenient for office automation, web browsing, etc. In short, it is not a gaming PC screen, especially by its format, but also by its refresh rate compared to its price.
