One of the reasons users uninstall apps from their phones is understandably to free up space. If you try to install a new application in an almost full phone, the system will give you a choice of which applications you can uninstall manually to free up the necessary space. A new feature in Android lets you free up space while keeping apps. As?
How does it work?...This new element is called automatic archiving and they informed about it by Android developers on their official blog. The novelty makes it possible to keep the application on the phone and at the same time free up to 60% of the space that this application originally occupied.
This function can partially uninstall unused applications from the phone, leaving only user data and an icon on the device. If the user wants to use it again, after clicking on the icon, the remaining part will be downloaded from the application store (if the application is still in the store).

But the fact is that it must be supported by the application, and automatic archiving is only available to developers who use App Bundle for publishing. If the app supports it, it will be less likely to show up in uninstall suggestions if you try to install it on a phone with full storage.
How to try this new product?...You can activate automatic archiving very easily. When you try to install it on a phone with full storage, a window pops up asking if you want to activate this feature. If you do so, the phone will automatically archive unused apps to free up the required space, although app icons will remain in place for reinstallation.
