Company confirms 14th Gen Meteor Lake platform
Intel has officially confirmed the 14th Gen Raptor Lake processor family, which is expected to be released later this year. Frankly, the next generation of the Core series is a matter of curiosity. According to some sources, Intel will skip Meteor Lake processors on the desktop platform. Instead, there will be a refresh to the existing 13th Raptor Lake lineup.
A recently released Intel in the document, Media SDK, and a list of supported hardware for the oneVPL (Video Processing Library) GPU runtimes. We see the presence of the “Future: 14th Gen Intel Core (MTL/Meteor Lake)” section in the openVPL list. Thus, it was confirmed that the 14th Gen Core CPUs will be branded under the name “Meteor Lake”. However, desktop or mobile platform is not specifically mentioned here.

In the past, a roadmap was leaked showing that existing processors will be refreshed with the name “Raptor Lake-S Refresh”. At this point, it is said that Intel will use different CPU names such as Core i9-13950K or 13905K. So just like on the mobile side. If this scenario happens, the new Raptor Lake Refresh chips will continue to be supported by the 600 and 700 series platforms as well.
