Geforce RTX 4070 Founders Edition captured on image

The hardware site Videocardz has now published what are claimed to be leaked images of the upcoming Nvidia RTX 4070, in Founders Edition guise. “Founders Edition” is the label for Nvidia’s reference graphics card, which, in addition to a nice cooler with a familiar look, guarantees to keep the recommended price. Reportedly, this will be $599

The images show a card that, like previous Geforce RTX 4000 variants, has two opposing fans, V-shaped circuit board and black heatsinks. The graphics card continues on the same track and uses the 16-pin 12VHPWR power connector, but probably comes with an adapter for older hardware. When it comes to image connections, there is one HDMI 2.1 and three Displayport 1.4 outputs.

Looking at the dimensions, the Geforce RTX 4070 Founders Edition is expected to be significantly smaller than the damn RTX 4080 Founders Edition and instead more similar to the RTX 3070 Founders Edition. This means, among other things, a card that takes up double card slots. The RTX 4080 itself also looks to be the upcoming graphics card’s closest Founders Edition sibling, as the RTX 4070 Ti has not been released in such a version so far.

It has previously been difficult to get hold of Nvidia’s reference graphics card in Sweden after Nvidia closed its online store in 2020, but just over a month ago the Swedish store returned with Proshop as a partner. The Geforce RTX 4070 Founders Edition will therefore appear at the retailer later in April, and according to rumors has a planned launch for April 13.
