MOTOROLA

Motorola Edge 40

Moto Edge 40 has been revealed in all its glory

With the Edge 40 series, Motorola follows up on the previous Edge 30 series, which scored on several fronts. In addition to an excellent price / performance ratio, we also got, for example, a camera with a resolution of 200 Mpx, the then new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and other things. Following up on such a successful line of phones will not be easy at all.

Motorola Edge 40 is just around the corner...As part of this series, at its launch, we should expect a pair of phones, namely the Edge 40 and Edge 40 Pro versions. While the latter is expected to be a rebranded Moto X40, the base Edge 40 will be an all-new device for global markets. A known informer OnLeaks with now pulled out with the first renders of this expected news.

If these pictures don’t lie, we’ll see, according to time-honored traditions Motorola, a rather more conservatively conceived design, which is, however, completely functional and purposeful. The novelty will offer a slightly rounded display and a rounded back at the same angle, which should be treated with artificial leather. At least for the depicted black and green colors, which are complemented by blue and purple.

There is strength in simplicity...The photo module is designed in a traditional, square shape with rounded corners, contains two lenses and a dual LED flash. In the middle of the back is the Motorola logo. Simple, non-offensive and to the point. As for the specs, you zoomed in server TechOutlook and we can look forward to, for example, a 6.55-inch AMOLED panel with FullHD+ resolution and a frequency of 144 Hz.

The Motorola Edge 40 will be powered by the Dimensity 8020 chipset in combination with 8 GB of RAM and an internal storage capacity of up to 256 GB. The dual camera should arrive with a resolution of 50 + 13 Mpx, it will receive optical stabilization and the selfie camera will offer a resolution of 32 Mpx. Also worth mentioning is the battery with a capacity of 4,400 mAh in combination with 68W wired and 15W wireless charging.

Price and availability...The exact date of the premiere of the Edge 40 series is unknown for now, but the presentation should already be in the fall. As far as prices are concerned, the basic version combining 8 + 128 GB memory should cost 599 euros in Europe, i.e. some 14,100 crowns, and the Pro version will reportedly start at 899 euros (21,150 crowns).
