The S23 family resists impacts well, see here...

The Galaxy S22 Ultra did a great job of proving that there's more to a phone than its specs: it held up well, took excellent photos, and was sometimes wobbly like a hazard. The S23 family has fixed that, so while the familiar exterior remains, the user experience is a huge improvement. Let's not skip the format changes: the three novelties have slightly less curved aluminum side edges, as well as Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front and back, which according to Corning is more resistant to falls.

But this isn't the first test environment the S23 Ultra has been featured in: a PBK comments examined scratch resistance, and the Mohs 8 scale chisel on the screen left an obvious mark for the first time, which is an improvement over a year. The situation is similar for the milky glass on the back and the glass cover of the lens. The Ultra's fate immediately took a turn for the worse when dropped from waist height: the protective glass was already broken when it landed with the screen on the hard, rough surface, just like last year. Let's say the screen and touch panel remain functional.

The back impact from the same height also resulted in a spider web pattern, but the lens survived the intentional crash, unlike last year. It is a fact that the more curved glass of the new S Pen-equipped product makes it more vulnerable than its flatter siblings, but at the same time, the degree of damage caused by a drop depends on the angle of impact, the hardness and pattern of the surface and of course blind luck, which is only reduced to zero if we pay special attention to our phone. If that doesn't work, we recommend you land on the flat bottom or top of the S23 Ultra, because landing is better tolerated by the aluminum frame.

If the glass is broken, you can take it in to be fixed, which of course many people try to fix at home, and PBKreviews already looked under the damaged lid. Access to the components is the usual macera with heating and a guitar pick, after all the case is well fitted and glued for a dustproof and waterproof design (which can skip with the first serious damage). Afterwards, however, an entire orderly interior is revealed to our eyes with rows of cables, screws and removable components. The 5,000 mAh battery was easier to remove with the help of a flap, and the heat dissipation system with an increased surface area is perfectly visible from below. The channel rates repairability 9 points out of 10, i.e. particularly good.
