Message Guard: the new security feature for the Galaxy S23 line
Samsung has introduced a new form of security feature in its Galaxy S23 models. The function is supposed to protect against so-called zero-click exploits, where malware has been embedded in images. Samsung claims that none of these attacks have been recorded against Galaxy phones, but that by introducing protection now, it wants to be one step ahead of potential attacks.
The security feature, called Message Guard, works with Samsung's own messaging app and Google Messages, and is described by Samsung as an advanced form of sandboxing (which is a place isolated from the device's other functions) and a quarantine. virtual. When an image arrives, it is received and isolated from the rest of the phone, after which the image is reviewed. If it is deemed safe, it becomes available to the user.
Initially, Message Guard will only be available for Galaxy S23 models, but the feature will be rolled out to all devices running One UI 5.1.
