APPLE

Apple HomePod users reported an unusual fact

According to 9to5Mac, many Apple HomePod users have encountered a problem – if there are multiple smart speakers in the home, they will all respond to voice commands at the same time. As a result, they respond by competing with each other and nothing the user expects.

If a person has multiple Apple devices (e.g. smartphone, tablet, smart watch, and smart speaker), only one will respond to the “Hey Siri” command, which is given priority, and the rest will ignore it. After updating to the latest firmware version, the speakers began to behave differently – they do not know what has priority and begin to communicate with the user, even if another gadget answers the greeting at the same time.

If a person has two HomePods and asks Siri to activate one of the HomeKit scenes, both will do the job. In this case, one will inform you that the scene was successfully activated and the second will respond that it was not successful. The problem appears after installing firmware 16.3. 2, so it is recommended to abandon this update or wait for the next release, in which most likely this bug will be eliminated.
