Bing's updated interface with artificial intelligence appeared briefly for users
Microsoft decided to put into practice the unique features of the ChatGPT AI bot, integrating it with its Bing search service – for this, the company approached OpenAI that developed it. Fortunately, Bing users were able to briefly see what searching for the new format would look like.
A student named Owen Yin installed Bing as the homepage of the Microsoft Edge browser, and at some point the updated interface loaded – the guy took no action to open the search in the new format, and after a few minutes the service returned to the traditional interface, writes The Verge.
Yin said that this couple of minutes was enough for him to briefly test the possibilities of a typo with the participation of the AI: the bot not only answers the questions, but also asks them in a conversational way. Also, the updated Bing cites sources, and this is important: language models like ChatGPT do not report where the data is taken from, which means that the information received from them cannot be considered reliable. Other users of the platform also talked about Microsoft's new search format – they too saw this interface for no more than a few minutes.

A new Chat option appeared next to the standard search bar, when opened, the system greeted users “A new response engine based on artificial intelligence”. Bing suggested “Ask tough questions”, “Get better answers” and “Get creative inspiration” but warned that the platform is powered by artificial intelligence, so there could be “surprises and mistakes”.(image above)
