APPLE

Electronics giant may be working on the development of a new iPhone

We're talking about the more expensive "Ultra" model of the iPhone, which is slated for early next year, and which would find its place above the iPhone Pro and iPhone Max models.

Journalist Mark Gurman claims that there is evidence that Apple wants to offer a more powerful and expensive iPhone to "wealthy" customers, and also pointed to a comment by the company's director, Tim Cook, in which he stated that "the iPhone has become being part of people's lives” and that he thinks people “are really willing to 'stretch' to get the best in this category”.

How the Ultra will differ from other models is hard to say at the moment. Gurman believes this model could be powered by a faster processor, as well as having a better camera than the Pro and Pro Max models and an even bigger screen. Also, this model may appear without a charging port.

It's worth noting that there was earlier speculation that Apple was looking for more ways to differentiate the Pro models from their mainstream brethren. A recent report claimed that upcoming Pro versions could have WiFi 6E connectivity, while the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus would be sold with older WiFi 6 antennas. Professional models can receive redesigned titanium bezels, as well as haptic buttons to adjust volume and turn the device on/off. In addition, the iPhone Pro Max is expected to receive a periscope camera.
