Most smartphone owners charge their phone at the minimum charge level and charge it up to 100% each time. However, this approach is detrimental to modern phones with lithium-ion batteries, experts warn.
We tell you why you need to charge your smartphone not to 100%, but to 85%.
Most mobile devices are now produced with the expectation that the user will replace the device in two or three years, the batteries in modern devices are not designed for a long period of operation.
Typically, a Li-ion battery can survive approximately 500 full charge cycles from 0 to 100%.
If you charge and discharge the gadget, for example, in 50% cycles, then the battery life can increase several times.
You can extend battery life as long as possible by keeping the charge between 40 and 85%.
