Samsung has decided to release a new version of its protected external SSD T7 Shield. The device was released almost a year ago in 1TB and 2TB versions. Now a modification with a volume of 4TB is coming to the market.
In Europe they ask 420 euros for an SSD of this type. By way of comparison, the prices of the newer versions are 135 and 220 euros.
As a reminder, the T7 Shield offers a good level of protection. It has protection against water and humidity (IP65) and protection against drops of up to 3 meters in height. In fact, since it's a solid state drive, it's likely to survive a much more serious drop.
The device is equipped with a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 interface and offers read and write speeds of 1050 and 1000 MB/s respectively. The device only weighs around 100g.
