Google to roll out memory-saving and power-saving modes for Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS in coming weeks
Meanwhile, the Google Chrome browser has been suffering from system memory issues. It was especially severe when multiple tabs were open, and to address this issue, Chrome made an update that optimized the device's battery power and memory capacity.
When Google announced its latest Chrome for the desktop, it introduced two new features: Memory Saver and Energy Saver. According to Google, these two features can reduce the amount of memory used by Chrome by up to 30%, as well as increase your device's battery life when battery usage is low.
Chrome Group Product Manager Mark Chang(google blog): “Google will roll out memory saving and power saving modes for Windows, MacOS and ChromeOS in the coming weeks,” he said.

When memory saver and power saver are deployed, they work automatically unless user manually disable them or mark them as 'important sites' to disable memory saver feature.
To find Memory Saver in the Windows Chrome browser, swipe it down from the hidden three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the Chrome browser.
In the old days, if Chrome usage was excessive on the system memory, the usage of other programs running on the computer or device was limited. As a result, access to cache information is delayed in Chrome, which blocks RAM usage itself. “Chrome was originally designed with speed in mind,” said Chang. But performance is more important than just having a fast browser.”

Furthermore, Chrome Saver Mode is designed to save battery consumption by limiting background activities and visual effects used in animated and video websites. Power saving mode is activated when the device's battery level is at 20%
