Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi today introduced a new low-cost smartphone called Redmi 12C in the domestic market. The gadget runs on Android 12 with the MIUI 13 add-on.
The device is equipped with a 6.71-inch IPS display, the resolution of which corresponds to the HD+ format. A 5 megapixel camera is provided for taking selfies and video calling.
On the back panel of the phone there is a dual-component camera, which includes sensors for 50 MP and 2 MP (macro sensor).
The basis of the Redmi 12C hardware platform is the MediaTek Helio G85 processor. The chip works in conjunction with 4/6 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and a 64/128 GB eMMC 5.1 flash drive.
The power subsystem is represented by a battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh with support for charging at 10 W. It is also worth noting the presence of a standard headphone jack, a rear fingerprint scanner and a Bluetooth 5.1 module.
The phone is made in a case with a thickness of 8.77 mm. The weight of the handset is 192 grams.
The cost of the basic version of Redmi 12C (6/64 GB) is $100. The 4/128 GB modification costs $115, the top version (8/128 GB) costs $130.
