QUALCOMM

O primeiro processador de smartphone de 12 núcleos do mundo está em desenvolvimento

Semiconductor giant already working on the development of an unprecedented 12-core mobile chip

Qualcomm is developing the world's first 12-core mobile processor for smartphones, which is expected to compete with Apple's proprietary chipsets. This is reported by the publication WinFuture.

According to the media, the new processor is codenamed Hamoa. The chipset has eight high-performance cores and four low-power cores. Hamoa will support the new UFS 4.0 flash memory type, as well as the proprietary Snapdragon x65 5G modem.

The Snapdragon x65 is already produced at TSMC factories using a 4-nanometer process. Based on this, journalists believe that the processor itself will receive the same topology.

WinFuture also found that Qualcomm is working on two versions of the new processor at the same time - SC8380X and SC8380XP. How they differ is not reported.

Journalists believe that the development of Hamoa is an attempt by Qualcomm to match the performance of Apple Silicon processors. It is likely that Hamoa will be used not only on smartphones, but also on computers.
