Google Street View will stop working in March
Yesterday I revealed here that Google has definitively closed Hangouts, one of its many messaging applications that definitively closed on November 1, 2022. And a few minutes after that closure, the search giant announces the death of one more of its applications, the Street View.
Google Street View is one of the great classics of Google that allows users to have a 360 degree view of all (or almost) the roads on the planet and represents a godsend for those who travel to places they do not know.
Both on Android and iOS, Street View has been one of the most precious functions of Google Maps for years, in whose application it merged a long time ago, however, the service has always had its own dedicated application. The latter, however, will not remain in circulation for much longer.
Although they are not yet visible to everyone, the dedicated Google Street View application is issuing an alert that the application's features will definitely merge with Google Maps and that will be the application that users should use to continue use the service. Thus, as of March 21, 2023, it will no longer be possible to use the dedicated application, and its features will be available exclusively on Google Maps.
With the closure of the dedicated application, there will also be a function that will disappear completely: Photo Path. This is a tool that was released last year but was not as successful as expected and will therefore no longer be available.
