LEICA

The German company Leica today presented its new smartphone. The novelty called Leica Leitz Phone 2 was created in collaboration with Japanese brands Sharp and SoftBank. The device replaced the Leitz Phone 1 smartphone, which debuted last summer.
The main feature of the Leica Leitz Phone 2 is, of course, the camera. The smartphone's design is made in the style of the brand's cameras with a red circle, while the kit comes with a magnetic lens cap. The rear camera has a 1-inch sensor with a resolution of 47.2 MP and an aperture of f/1.9. It is complemented by a 1.9 MP module. There is a 12.6-megapixel front camera for taking selfies.
The Leica Leitz Phone 2 smartphone received a 6.6-inch Pro IGZO OLED display with a resolution of 2730 x 1260 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 240 Hz. Protection from mechanical damage is provided by Gorilla Glass Victus.
The hardware platform is based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 single-chip system. The SoC works in conjunction with 12GB of RAM. Built-in flash drive capacity is 512GB (microSD cards up to 1TB are supported).
Autonomous operation is provided by a 5000mAh battery. In addition, there is an under-display fingerprint scanner, a Wi-Fi 6 module, an NFC chip and IP68 water protection. The smartphone is running Android 12.
In Japan, sales of new items will begin on November 18. The Leica Leitz Phone 2 will cost $1,540.
