ELGATO

Elgato apresenta Facecam Pro, a primeira webcam 4K do mundo

Facecam Pro: the world's first 4K webcam

Corsair's streaming brand Elgato introduced the world's first webcam capable of recording 4K video at 60 frames per second. The new Facecam Pro is a logical evolution of the Elgato Facecam model, released last year, but with support for 1080p video recording.

The Elgato Facecam Pro features a 1/1.8" Sony Starvis sensor and an eight-element lens with a 90-degree field of view, f/2.0 aperture and 21mm equivalent focal length. 2160p60fps, 2160p30fps, 1080p60fps, 1080p30fps, 720p60fps, and 720fps Automatic video scaling from 4K@60 to Full HD@60 is supported, which is useful if the streaming application you are using does not support high definition video input.

Connection to a computer is performed using a USB 3.0 Type-C cable. You can adjust camera settings - set your desired viewing angle, adjust brightness, saturation and contrast, set shutter speed, exposure and color temperature - using the Camera Hub app. This will only need to be done once. Fortunately, the camera has internal memory to store all the settings. There is also an automatic mode that configures everything by itself, allowing the user to focus on the flow.

Unfortunately, the novelty did not get rid of a drawback, which was present in last year's Facecam model. Facecam Pro does not have a built-in microphone. It will have to be purchased separately if the streamer doesn't take care of it in advance. On the other hand, many streamers do not use the cameras' built-in microphones, preferring more advanced separate models.

The Elgato Facecam Pro measures 116 x 38 x 79mm and weighs 240 grams. The camera can be attached to a monitor or mounted on a tripod or other accessories thanks to the 1/4-inch bracket.
