The renamed Civi 2 could become the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE

If choosing a Xiaomi phone wasn't complicated enough, another NE model is said to be coming to the 12 series.

Last year, Xiaomi already announced that shortly after the Mi 11 Lite 5G, it launched the Mi 11 Lite 5G NE, which received a new system chip, but was otherwise identical to its predecessor. It is said that the company will have something like this in 2022, but now instead of replacing the chip, the Civi 2 already on the market in China can be renamed the Xiaomi 12 Lite 5G NE.

which distinguishes models intended for the international market from phones sold in China. Renaming the Civi 2(image above) would not be a difficult decision on Xiaomi's part to explain. The Civi is powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, which outperforms the 778G that the 12 Lite received. Both the main camera and the secondary ultra-wide camera are better in the Civi, as is the battery, and everything else is almost the same between the two devices.

China's FCC data also reveals that the 12 Lite 5G NE will be available in three configurations: 6/128GB, 8/128GB and 8/256GB.
