If before the WhatsApp messenger allowed to hide from other users only the moment when the account owner was online, now the developers have added a new feature - you can choose who can see the presence of the interlocutor online.
Previously, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg claimed the benefits of end-to-end encryption on WhatsApp, now another layer of security has been added to hide online status from intruders. This is especially convenient when you need to limit intrusive communication with a person without blacklisting them. Rumors about the appearance of such a function have been circulating since July, but the possibility itself appeared only now, and it is available not only to users of beta versions of the messenger.
Online status can be hidden by going to Settings → Account → Privacy → Last seen time and online status. You can configure the ability to view the time of the users last visit and already on this basis - who can see the online status: "Everyone", "My Contacts", "Except Contacts" and "Nobody".
In addition, the WABetaInfo portal reported that some testers can create polls on WhatsApp for Android and iOS. The ability to view polls has already appeared in WhatsApp for Windows. While all users cannot yet create polls, they can vote and view the results.
Other functions have also appeared in the messenger, but so far only participants in the testing program can use them.
