Lançado o editor DxO PhotoLab 6 RAW

DxO has released a major update to its DxO PhotoLab 6 photo editor

DeepPRIME XD has arrived, a completely new image noise reduction technology.

A new ReTouch tool and integration of perspective correction tools have been added so that basic perspective correction no longer requires the ViewPoint add-on.

Let's take a look at all the new features in PhotoLab 6 below.

DeepPRIME XD...The most important update was the DeepPRIME XD tool. This is a more advanced technology to remove noise and restore detail in high ISO images.

DeepPRIME XD (eXtreme Details) is powered by DxO's own AI-based deep learning tools. This tool has been in development for a year and, according to the developers, provides even greater detail than the original DeepPRIME tool.

It is reported that this tool will be exclusively included in the maximum and most expensive version of RAW Converter - Elite. In total, DxO has two versions of PhotoLab 6 software: the more affordable PhotoLab 6 Essential and the more advanced and expensive PhotoLab 6 Elite.

Color management system and software proofing tool DxO is also working on a color processing algorithm and control system. PhotoLab 6 features a new ultra-wide gamut color space to ensure no color is lost while editing. Also, you can use the Soft Proofing feature to check how your photos will look on different devices.

Retouch...With the new ReTouch tool in PhotoLab 6, you can adjust brushes to get the exact shape you want to remove objects. Now you can mirror, rotate or even scale the correction source.

Of course, other tools like Photoshop can be used for complex retouching, but the goal of DxO is to do the processing in a non-destructive workflow based on the original raw files within a single editor.

Image organization...While PhotoLab's library panel for viewing and organizing images used to be quite straightforward, PhotoLab 6 introduced project "grouping" for easier separation and organization.

Version 6 also expanded the range of supported EXIF and IPTC tags and added color tags as another way to filter and organize images.

Support for new lenses...Coinciding with this release, DxO announced the release of another batch of corrective profiles, this time for the following lenses:

Canon RF 24mm F1.8 Macro IS STM

Nikkor Z 28-75mm F2.8

HD Pentax-D FA 21mm F2.4 ED Limited DC WR

HD Pentax-FA 31mm F1.8 Limited

HD Pentax-FA 43mm F1.9 Limited

HD Pentax-FA 77mm F1.8 Limited

Sigma 18-50mm F8 DC DN | Ç

Sigma 35mm F2 DG DN | Ç

Sony E 11mm F8

ViewPoint 4 Perspective Adjustment In the new version of PhotoLab 6, the perspective correction tool has been integrated, so there is no longer the need to purchase a separate ViewPoint add-on for basic correction.

At the same time, DxO announced an updated ViewPoint 4, which offers even more options than the built-in perspective correction tools. That is, if PhotoLab 6's capabilities for working with perspectives aren't enough for you, you should take a look at the updated ViewPoint 4 tool.

ViewPoint 4 is a standalone application and plug-in for Photoshop, Elements or Lightroom. It also integrates seamlessly with PhotoLab with its own customization panel. ViewPoint was specifically designed for complex geometric corrections. In previous versions of PhotoLab, perspective corrections required the installation of ViewPoint 3. PhotoLab 6 now has its own built-in perspective correction tools, but ViewPoint 4 expands on these capabilities.

One of the interesting tricks in the paid version of the ViewPoint 4 tool is the correction of "volumetric" distortions. When using wide-angle lenses, objects near the edge of the frame are unnaturally "stretched" but the new tool can correct this.

In addition, ViewPoint 4 has a new ReShape tool that can be used to deform and repair specific objects or areas of a scene. Its closest counterpart, as far as one can tell, is the Liquify tool in Photoshop.

ViewPoint 4 can now flip and mirror images, offers better integration between Crop and Horizon tools, and offers additional tabs for finer customization.
