For the first time in the history of the series, the manufacturer offers a novelty in two types of processors. The choice can be made in favor of a version on the 12th Gen Intel Core, or in favor of a model on a custom Microsoft SQ3 processor with Arm architecture developed by Qualcomm.
For the Intel based model, Core i5-1235U or Core i7-1255U processors are available. For the corporate user segment, the company also offers the most powerful Core i5-1245U or Core i7-1265U. Microsoft SQ3-based Surface Pro 9 with integrated Microsoft SQ9 graphics (other specs not specified) supports 5G wireless.
The Intel-based tablet is ready to offer up to 32GB of LPDDR5 memory and up to 1TB SSD. A device based on the Microsoft SQ3 chip can offer up to 16GB of LPDDR4x memory, as well as a solid state drive of up to 512GB.
Both versions of the Surface Pro 9 feature a 13-inch 3:2 PixelSense Flow touchscreen with a resolution of 2880 × 1920 pixels and a refresh rate. Both cases also claim support for Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1, 1080p webcam and 10-megapixel rear cameras. The company claims up to 15.5 hours of battery life for the Intel-based Surface Pro 9 tablet and up to 19.9 hours for the version based on its own processor.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 9 will go on sale on October 25th. The price of the model with Intel chips will start at US$ 999. In the maximum configuration with Core i7-1255U and 32 GB of RAM, the novelty was US$ 2600. Prices for the model with the Microsoft SQ3 processor start at US$ 1,300. For example, you have to pay a lot for a model with 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD. In this case, the keyboard will have to be purchased separately.
