The American company Gatorade introduced the Smart Gx smart water bottle, which helps the user to maintain a normal level of hydration and control the recovery process after a workout. In other words, it “tells” the athlete when to take another sip of water.
Hydration level is tracked by a special iOS app, containing nutrition and training programs as well as recommendations for recovery. It also controls a person's condition if he drinks water from other sources.
A sweat patch, which is a small wearable device, is used as a hydration monitoring sensor. Thanks to it, users will be able to create a personal "perspiration profile", on the basis of which the application will track perspiration. The smart bottle's power supply is charged via a USB cable. The Smart Gx is dishwasher safe, with the exception of the lid.
In addition, the company manufactures water-soluble capsules for electrolyte and carbohydrate replacement that are compatible with Smart Gx. The smart bottle is now available on the company's website for $70. Gatorade is providing a free patch and a pack of 4 electrolyte capsules of the user's choice.
