This feature is disabled by default and hidden in the operating system settings.
Some applications actually need to be started at system startup, while other programs do not. Antivirus and other security programs fall into the first category. Users can allow individual applications to run at system startup as they wish.
However, sometimes apps can register themselves at startup without notifying the user about it. Windows 11 has a built-in ability to warn users of a new startup entry, but it's disabled by default.
Windows 11 users can manage startup items in Windows Task Manager. Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Manager and go to the Startup or Startup Applications (App Launch) tab in Windows 11, version 22H2 to display a list of all applications launched at system startup.
Enable autostart notifications for programs in Windows 11 System notifications in Windows don't have the best reputation. The main reason for this is that Microsoft uses them to display hints and tips that are generally not that helpful.
Many Windows 11 users are not even aware that they can get notifications whenever a new program is added at startup. This feature is supported in the initial release of Windows 11 as well as the Windows 11 2022 update.
You can enable app launch notification in Windows 11 as follows:
-Select Start Menu > Settings or use Win+I to open the Settings app.
-Go to System > Notifications.
-Wait for the Notifications from apps and other senders section to load. Scroll down until you find the App Launch Notification entry.
-Place the switch in the active position.
From now on, Windows 11 will display a notification whenever an app is added to system startup.
Clicking the arrow icon will open a page with notification options. You can disable certain types of notifications, such as disabling notification banners but leaving notifications in Notification Center.
The default priority is Normal, but you can set it to High or Higher to make the notification more visible in Notification Center.
